Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data Digital People collects through digitalpeople.online, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
1. Who we are
Digital People International Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11410242. Our registered office is 167-169 Great Portland Street, Fifth Floor, London W1W 5PF.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email benlegg@digitalpeople.online.
2. What we collect and why
Enquiry forms
- What: your name, company, email address, LinkedIn profile link, enquiry type, how you heard about us and your message.
- Why: to reply to you and discuss working together.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before a contract.
- How long: up to 2 years after our last contact. If we go on to work together, we keep business records for 6 years after the work ends, as tax law requires.
Feedback on the agent guides
- What: on the Set up Claude page, your score, your comment, your plan and the steps you completed. Your name and role only if you choose to let us quote you.
- Why: to improve the guides, and to publish a quote only where you have said we may.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in improving the guides; your consent for any quote, which you can withdraw at any time.
- How long: up to 2 years; a published quote until you ask us to remove it.
The website assistant ("Ask a question")
- What: the questions you type or speak and the answers given, the page you were on, whether you used the microphone, your approximate country (from your connection), any Helpful or Not helpful rating and a random conversation ID. Your IP address is used for up to 2 hours to prevent abuse and is not stored with the conversation.
- Why: to answer your questions, and to see what the site does not yet answer so we can improve it. We may read conversations for this purpose.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering visitors' questions and improving the site.
- How long: conversations are deleted after 90 days.
Answers are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) using extracts from our published pages. It makes no decisions about you. Please do not type personal or confidential details into it. If you use the microphone, your browser's own speech service (for example Google or Apple) turns your speech into text under that provider's terms. The assistant keeps the conversation in your browser's session storage while you move between pages; it is cleared when you close the tab.
Website analytics
- What: Google Analytics 4 uses 2 cookies (_ga and _ga_7H216SY7HS) to measure, in aggregate, which pages are visited, how people arrive, the device type and approximate location. Our host, Framer, also counts visits without cookies.
- Why: to understand how the site is used and improve it. We do not use this data for advertising: Google signals and ad personalisation are off.
- Lawful basis: UK law allows cookies used only for statistics about a website without consent, as long as you are told and can easily switch them off. We also rely on our legitimate interest in improving the site.
- How long: Google keeps event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. The cookies last up to 2 years unless you delete them.
Switch off analytics on this browser. This stops Google Analytics running on this browser and deletes its cookies. It is remembered until you clear your browser's site data.
Email and calls
- What: your messages, contact details and notes of our conversations.
- Why and lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running our business and keeping in touch with clients and contacts, or a contract with you.
- How long: up to 2 years after our last contact, or 6 years after work ends for client records.
We often use an AI note-taker (Granola) on calls. It keeps written notes, not an audio recording, and we may use AI tools such as Claude to summarise them and draft follow-ups. If you would rather we did not use it, tell us at the start of the call.
We may also hold work details about you from public sources such as LinkedIn or company websites, or from people who introduce us. We use these to research and contact people we may work with.
You do not have to give us any personal data, but we cannot reply to an enquiry without a way to contact you.
3. Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the site. They act on our instructions as processors:
- Framer hosts the website.
- Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our email. It may keep a copy for a period set by its own terms.
- Google provides our email (Google Workspace) and website analytics.
- Cloudflare runs the website assistant.
- Anthropic generates the assistant's answers. Its commercial terms bar it from training its models on this data. It deletes the data within 30 days, unless it is flagged for breaking its usage policy.
- Notion stores the assistant's conversation log.
We also use standard business tools for email, meeting notes, contacts and accounts.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We may share it with our professional advisers, or where the law requires.
4. Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers process data in the United States, India or elsewhere. We rely on the UK-US data bridge where a provider is certified under it, and otherwise on standard contract terms approved for UK transfers. Email us if you would like details.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted
- restrict how we use it
- receive it in a portable format, where that applies
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
Your right to object. Where we rely on our legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue. You can always object to direct marketing, and we will stop.
To use any of these rights, email benlegg@digitalpeople.online. We will reply within 1 month, or tell you within that month if we need longer (up to 2 more months).
6. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first at benlegg@digitalpeople.online. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond as soon as we can.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Children and changes
This site is for adults. The daily news for kids guide is written for parents, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.
We will update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
